Pride comes before a fall.
Bedwell Rangers Aztec came to the Heath up for this game. They only had 11 players and were without their usual goalkeeper. They were fantastic all game.
The weather was dry, calm but cold, the pitch was in good condition and despite losing Bruce to a late illness the squad looked very good on paper.
We didn’t compete on any level today and we were all guilty of complacency – including the coaches.
We were second to most challenges, poor in front of goal, loose at the back and let the ball bounce too many times.
To their credit Bedwell took their chances and were 2-0 up at half-time.
Bedwell scored four more good goals in the second half with their number 17 particularly lively.
We did have chances throughout this game but our usual sharpness in front of goal was lacking. Jack got a consolation goal for us following some good work by Lewis.
A bad day at the office – so we get our heads down for the hard work at training and our heads up at the games and we build again – there is a long way to go yet.
