Keep Working Hard….

Hi

Blogging again quicker than usual because of another good win at rivals Beaconsfield!

Not a classic by any means. Our front three were a little under par by their own high standards and our midfield seemed to lack the urgency needed against a lively Beaconsfield team.

On reflection we cannot hit the heights week in week out but to come out 2-0 winners is very satisfying!

A special mention of praise goes to our keeper Ron Yates. As with all the other lads took some stick early on in the season when mistakes were aplenty but has amassed a series of games now looking assured and safe in goal. Today he pulled off one "Hell of a" stop to deny a goal when we were only 1-0 up!!

Onto Tuesday's Red Insure Cup tie against Biggleswade. A few changes may be made. Not because of poor form but to involve lads who haven't had quite as much football as they would want. We are a squad, we need everyone in it to be successful this season. Josh Castiglione has been patient,as has George Powell so a start for them I feel is essential to both lift their spirits and give them a platform to prove they are worthy members of our unit.

Along with my faithful assistant Chris Watters who came out of the side due to the birth of baby Erin and the legend that is Kaan Fehmi who has worked his socks off to get back into things, they all in my opinion deserve an opportunity to show what they are all about!

Don't get me wrong I am not taking any game lightly and these lads will "dovetail " in perfectly. All these lads are "1st Team" players and as said they will all be needed, so to gain game time is vital.

We are top of the league which considering our start is a massive achievement but my job now is to keep pushing this group for more! They must know that every position is to be competed for. The lads are not silly, they know it. Joe De La Salle performing in our reserves brilliantly plus possibly a fit Reece Dobson coming back not to forget a small matter of our "Star striker" in Chris Dillon making progress from his injury and Luke Robins we are getting stronger and stronger.

The message to our boys is well done but nothing stops, no resting on past performances. Keep working hard. Try to get positive results week in week out. Don't look too far ahead and keep our discipline throughout!

Well done chaps!!
