Happy New Year to you all.

Writing the latest blog after hearing that our Saturday game against AFC Hayes has been called off. Very disappointing because I'm sure the lads were up for another game to continue their good run. That said there were some tired bodies out there on Thursday so the rest will do us no harm at all.

Onto the New Years game v Barton. A very heavy pitch at Garden Walk was in store for both teams but credit to them, they all got on with things and produced an exciting if not skilful display. Stand out performers for ourselves were Ron Yates in goal and Kaan Fehmi upfront. On the bench the lads were amazed by the saves Ron was producing, at least five quality stops. Reece Dobson and I had seen all this before at Takeley. Hopefully for Ron it's the start of a run of clean sheets now and prove to everyone his true worth.

As for Kaan. What a great lad he is. I have made him skipper of late and he really seems to be thriving off it! His goals, his movement, his attitude are all spot on!! Long may it go on. Picking two lads out is pretty harsh on others because it takes a team to get results but for me the general atmosphere around the club is good and ALL the lads have been doing terrific!

Hopefully we will not lose too many games to the weather during January and stay on the unbeaten run. It will take a lot for us to get back up there but we are positive enough to believe this is possible.

Cheers
