|Match||Royston Town Youth v Buntingford Cougars|
|Competition||Royston Crow Youth League Div 1|
|Royston Scorers||Jordan (2), Matt, Sam, Louis|
Royston followed up last week's excellent draw at Bedwell Rangers with a well merited victory against Cougars in what was an entertaining game.
Cougars started this game with ten players so unsurprisingly Royston started in control of the game and Jordan Hall, Micael Viera and Louis Townsend all went close early on. After 12 minutes it was Jordan Hall that gave his side the lead finishing one on one with the keeper and two minutes later he doubled that lead in similar circumstances.
Cougars then got into the game with their eleventh player entering the fray and three good saves from Conor Long kept them at bay.
At the other end Matt Brennan reacted on some hesitation to slot under the keeper to give his side a three goal half time lead.
The match was pretty much ended in the opening five minutes of the second half when Royston scored twice more. Sam Cooper reacted quickest to a loose ball to shoot home from eight yards and then Louis Townsend thumped in a header from Ryan Omahony's corner.
Cougars continued to look threatening going forward and had chances to reduce the deficit but some close misses and a couple more good saves thwarted that until they did score a late consolation. Royston also continued to create chances but some avaerage finishing and excelled goalkeeping meant no further goals were scored.
