The under 18s recorded a well deserved win over Blackstones on Wednesday evening to remain unbeaten in three league outings. Royston should have been out of sight in the opening 20 minutes as they created number of clear chances. Daniel Bond has three clear chances that were missed, Jake Booth hit a post and George Duffin shot wide when clear on goal. The misses were costly as Blackstone's first clear chance on goal was converted from 16 yards. Royston hit back when Matt Brennan heade in Ellis King's free kick and before the interval both teams had further chances to add to their tally but were all off target.
Royston were more clinical in the second half and for the most part enjoyed good dominating periods. Their good start to the second half was rewarded with three goals in the opening 20 minutes. An early Jake Booth corner was turned into his own net by a defender and then great control by Daniel Bond from a long ball saw him advance on goal and slot wide of the keeper.. Ellis King then added a fourth when he beat the offside trap to lob the goalkeeper.
Blackstones reduced the deficit with 10 minutes remaining from close range before a well worked team goal concluding with a good finish from George Duffin completed the scoring late on
